How it works
How an estate sale works, from first call to payout.
Every family is different. This is the path most estate-sale clients follow. Hourly sorts skip the sale-day steps.
Free 20-minute call and consultation
Book a free 20-minute consultation online or call (706) 471-1740. Tell us what is going on and what you hope for. We ask a few gentle questions, and if it fits, we set a time for a complimentary walk-through (no charge).
Complimentary walk-through (no charge) and plan
We come to the house for a complimentary walk-through (no charge), look with you, and talk honestly about whether a sale, an hourly sort, or both make sense. Commission and any job quotes are set after this visit, not before we have seen the home.
Date-hold
If we book sale dates, a $650 date-hold reserves them. It is fully credited against commission if the sale happens. There are no hidden costs or fees.
Sort, price, stage, list
We help decide what to keep, sell, donate, or recycle. Staging begins 3 to 5 days before the first sale date. For a sale we photograph, list, sign, stage, and price. You do not have to do that work.
Sale days
We staff the sale, protect the home, and check shoppers out. Cards add about 3% POS surcharge. Easy ACH adds a 1% QuickBooks processing fee. Cash has no surcharge. We accept major credit cards, cash, or Easy ACH only (no personal or business checks). Shopper fees are not taken from commission or from the family's proceeds.
Payout within 7 days, starting the next business day after the sale, sometimes as quick as 72 hours
We pay out within 7 days, starting the next business day after the sale, sometimes as quick as 72 hours, with a settlement report. Unsold items stay yours.

How we compare
How we compare to other estate sale companies
| Family Estate Solutions of Georgia | Many estate sale companies |
|---|---|
| Payout within 7 days, starting the next business day after the sale, sometimes as quick as 72 hours | Often two to three weeks, and online auctions can take a month or more |
| Local and family-owned, based in Buford | Many are national franchises or online-only auctions |
| Family photos and letters we find are always returned to you | Many contracts make anything left in the house part of the sale |
Every company is different, so we encourage you to compare these points with anyone you consider.
